Every year, we attend the special olympics as part of the family tradition. Sister-in-law Lisa is part of the Special Olympics, she is part of the track and field team of San Francisco. It was the perfect weather at the Berkeley Stadium this year… Lisa getting ready…

She was the 4th and the final leg of 400M Relay.

They ended up in 3rd Place! Yay!

And whats the weekend without some heat. :D

Have you heard? The 2008 Spelling Bee Contest Winner is Sameer Mishra from West Lafayette, Indiana. Why is that significant to me? Because I am a Purdue University Graduate – Purdue is located in West Lafayette, IN.

Must be the son of some Masters Program student or some professors or something. :-P

Went to see a game between the Oakland Athletics and the Boston Red Sox today. My friend will probably kill me for putting this title for this particular blog post, but the fact is, Boston Red Sox (last year’s World Series Champions) lost to the Athletics this past weekend in a 3-0 game series loss. They sure didn’t step it up this time. :-)

Regardless, it was a fun, the weather was awesome and ate a crap load of sunflower seeds. :-) Also manage to get some color on my arm and my face.

I don’t see the news out there about these say anything about it landing in the United States side. I have yet to see it here since Complex Magazine talked about it. According to Complex, they are coming here (not sure about the teal ones though).? Only Europe and the UK has gotten it so far.

With that said… they are readily available for pickup at Overkill Berlin (pictures are a courtesy of them) and Size?

So this morning when I went to the Peet’s in my neighborhood, I saw a tour bus. Why were they there? You will be surprised… the tour was for Whole Foods! There were Koreans outside posin’ for pics! And as I went in to pick up something for to-be lunch, they were kinda sitting around and chatting and walking around with the waist bags… some retro stylin’!

The one bad thing about getting paid in salary is that you don’t get paid over-time.? Am I gonna get paid for going into work today?? No, am I going to get recognized for working over the weekend?? Probably not – this workplace environment is so bloody dysfunctional, its a crazy place to work for.? This, my friends, makes it EVEN harder to go into work on a SUNDAY.

And to top off of this, the weather was nice and had a fight with wifey… not a good weekend.? *sigh.

So just last week, I have gotten into a bit of an issue via Ebay. Let me explain, the buyer was too dumbfounded to go pick up his package at the French Post Office, so the package got returned to me. It was the Air Max 95 Grape Retros – which consequently got re-listed, and the buyer has been refunded.

Now the etiquette for this kinda situation is that, if the buyer were to want the shoe re-sent – buyer has to pay for the shipping. This buyer, however, did not understand that fact, I had to explain it to him that this is how things work.

The other option is now then to refund the buyer. And in the case of that option, the buyer will only get the money for the shoe’s original price back, excluding the shipping charges. This was the option chosen by the buyer, and the end result is… Air Max 95 Grape Retros.

Remember – filing a mutual agreement dispute will get your final value fee back (the charge thats incurred by Ebay at the end of an auction based on the price you sold).

Fascinating, ain’t it?

*Update*? The dude has since signed off on the mutual agreement, and I got the final value fee back AND they have been sold, funny how it goes after a day of relisting.

I really do hate people.? :-)? Driving around town this weekend was friggin’ idiots galore – completely oblivious to their surroundings when they are driving – and this does not just apply to Asians, my fellow ethnic friends, oh no.? Its all them folks, equal opportunity bashing, baby!? :-)

So, as of lates, the trend in the shoe game seem to have caught onto with the runner side of the Nike sneakers. I personally have experienced in the past two years alone. It was the dunks and the dunk SBs when I first invested my time in this game – it has since gradually moved toward the Air Max’s (which I have always been a fan of)- whether its the max 90s, max 1s, or the structures, for example. Its all grown out of proportions and its now in its full swing. Nike Max 90′s going into almost near the 3 Large’s is unheard of till now.

And with the US economy on the verge of recession along with the deep drop in the exchange rate of the US Dollar, it makes it even worst. Buying from UK and Europe is a nightmare from the State side – talking about like $200 shipped from the UK, for example for a pair of OG colorway Air Max 90s.

It’s a crazy habit, game, hobby, whatever you want to call it now… *sigh… and yet… I can’t stop buying. What is wrong with me?? And get out of my runners world!

Once again, I just want to rant about the the Internet Explorer. It sucks! I have started adding “watermarks” on my images along with some fancy css background as PNG files for them. But no… IE 6.x and under don’t like that. It won’t show through the transparency. Piece of junk!

Whatever… I am done bitching, I can always fix it with some conditional javascript, but adding new code to existing code base of the theme, seem problematic as I tried, will keep on trying I guess. However, if I fix this issue, I can’t exactly fix this same issue on some of sneaker forums I post. And I think some folks are already not seeing any pictures.

Anyways, story of my life, browser issues at work AND at home. I have now switched back to using transparent .gif’s – pain in the ass! PNG ROCKS!

Also, there seem to be something going on with the menu of the template in IE6.

Starting to blog with wordpress to test things out a bit – hence the title of the existing hello world, I guess – seem to make sense anyways. Its really not that hard, its fairly straight forward. My web host have the option of installing it directly on the server, which is pretty cool. But its saying that its not upgradable? Its interesting – will have to look into that.

I am now playing with the template to see what I can come up with. So far, I have downloaded a couple of templates from stylizedweb.com – its very cool along with some template from wpdesigner.com too!
